The movie scene was on the low-key side in 2016; there were not too many blockbusters to look up to. 2017 was the direct opposite. With so many great films released and more slated for release, it has become genuinely hard to keep up.
We all live in a busy society, forced to devote our limited time to responsibilities and wants. Spending one or two hours on a movie can be frustrating if it turns out to be a total wreck, or simply falls short of your expectations. Our belief
We believe every movie deserves an audience. People pour great work and resources into producing films, and it would be a shame to watch such a product lie in ruins on the bottom shelf. The number of filmmakers and film industries has multiplied over the last five decades — and without a platform like ours showcasing work from different parts of the world, many film enthusiasts would be pigeonholed into the movies of their own region alone.
Film festivals are one of the platforms where filmmakers can give their movies exposure. Sadly, many filmmakers, actors and actresses are simply unaware of these opportunities. At Alexandria Film we believe that if festivals are properly publicised they will draw more attendees, generate more revenue for the host city and nation, and help upcoming filmmakers tap into the experience of those who walked the carpet before them.

Our future
We are building a future where film enthusiasts never again endure the torture of hunting for the right movie to match the mood of an evening. We are building an archive clearly divided into genres for easy searching.
